Electric IBC Tote Mixers

LBC-100 (1 HP) and LBC-200 (2 HP). Prewired, tested and ready to plug in.

Gear-driven electric mixers for 275–330 gallon totes

The LBC-100 and LBC-200 are US Mixers’ electric IBC mixers. Both are gear-driven for high torque at low speed — the right regime for re-suspending settled solids and blending viscous liquids in a tote — and both use the same E-400 folding impeller that passes through a standard 6″ cap.

Each mixer is factory wired and tested. It arrives with a DOL (direct-on-line) starter with overload protection, a safety interlock, and a pin-and-sleeve appliance plug matched to your supply. Clamp it on the tote, plug in, press start.

Included on every electric model

Standard electric mixers are designed for indoor use in a safe area. Tell us if the mixer will operate in a classified hazardous zone.

LBC-100 — 1 HP electric IBC mixer

The LBC-100 covers the widest range of tote-mixing duties: water-treatment chemicals, most paints and inks, solvents, dilute chemicals and polymer solutions up to roughly 5,000 cP. It is the standard choice for polymer mixing with its 12″ folding impeller. At 94 lb it is easily moved between totes by forklift or hoist.

LBC-200 — 2 HP electric IBC mixer

The LBC-200 steps up to 2 HP and a 13″ impeller for heavier products — thicker coatings, adhesives, slurries and gels from about 5,000 to 15,000 cP. Above 4,000 cP it is normally supplied with dual impellers to give full top-to-bottom turnover in the tote.

Electrical supply and plugs

All electric IBC mixers have a pin-and-sleeve socket rated at 20 A maximum and are supplied with the matching plug for your supply:

Standard voltages and plugs
SupplyPlugRating
120 V single phase, 60 Hz1P + N + G, yellowWatertight, IP67
240 V single phase, 60 Hz2P + G, dark blueWatertight, IP67
208 / 230 V three phase, 60 Hz3P + G, dark blueSplashproof, IP44
460 / 480 V three phase, 60 Hz3P + G, redSplashproof, IP44

Single-phase units are supplied watertight because splashproof surface-mount sockets are not available in those sizes. IP44 is broadly equivalent to a NEMA 3R enclosure and IP67 to NEMA 6; ask if you need a specific NEMA rating.

Wiring follows US color codes: black/white/green for 120/240 V single phase; black, red, blue hots with white neutral for 208Y/120 V; brown, orange, yellow hots with gray neutral for 480Y/277 V; green ground throughout.

Options for electric mixers

Electric or pneumatic?

Electric is the simplest option where a suitable supply is available at the point of use: plug in and go, with fixed speed unless you specify variable. Pneumatic (air) mixers give adjustable speed as standard, weigh less, and avoid electrical equipment near the product — the usual choice where compressed air is the plant standard. Both share the same bridge, impeller and options.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run it on 120 V?

Yes — the LBC-100 and LBC-200 are available for 120 V single phase, 60 Hz, supplied with a yellow IP67 pin-and-sleeve plug.

Is variable speed standard?

No. Standard electric mixers are fixed speed. An integral electronic variable-speed drive is available as an option.

Does it need any installation?

No electrical installation beyond a suitable outlet. The starter, overload, interlock and plug are all factory fitted and tested.

What is the safety interlock?

A switch built into the bridge and wired into the motor control circuit. If the mixer is not mounted on a tote, it cannot be started.
